I think Game of Thrones is more than just entertainment, it is definitely very educational too. One can understand politics, power structures and the following concepts really well by watching it:

  1. Concept of alliances, allies- give and take
  2. Medieval societal structure- feudal system and social hierarchy
  3. King’s court and imperial structure- advisors, maester, knights
  4. Concept of the hill tribe
  5. Marital structures as a way of increasing empire and building alliances- Margarie marrying Joffrey, Merissa marrying the Dorne prince
  6. Understanding slavery
  7. Understanding wars and conquerence
  8. Understanding ancient armies
